Oh Baby! A Nursery

In my last post I wrote about baby Arabella and how her mom and I went crazy decorating the months before her arrival.  Well today I am sharing the final outcome of Arabella's sweet nursery!

If I were a baby- I'd be jealous of Arabella and I'd want this to be my nursery. Actually, as an adult I'm pretty jealous of Arabella. She is cute as pie, has an awesome mom, great clothes, and a beautiful room to sleep in!!!
Take a look for yourself :)

It took me awhile to write this post because I’ve been waiting to get one painting.  It was the last thing we needed to finish the room.  Earlier in the year Caroline found a painting online that she liked so I showed it to my co-worker, Belinda, and had her paint Arabella her very own original!
See the painting- It is so pretty in person!!!

The cream CR Laine Chair might seem dangerous to have for a baby- but it cleans really well and is oh-so-comfortable! And that gray flat weave Surya rug was one of the last things we added.  It really pulled the whole look together.
Every room upstairs has a desk built in. We had Caroline's father-in-law flatten the top so it and the built in shelf could be used as a changing station. It is perfect for now and can still be used as a desk later when Arabella is older... Don't you love that ghost chair?

A close up of the bedding.  I picked the fabric out before Caroline even knew if she was having a boy or a girl.  AND Caroline had her grandmother make the bumper and skirt- how special!

And of course, this nursery had to have a beautiful bathroom to match...

I had this shower curtian made extra long so that Caroline could hide all of the baby bath gear.  And the valance hides the ugly shower rod.
Pretty wallpaper from Thibaut.

Oh Baby! Isn't Arabella one stylish 5 month old? I'm so jealous :)

I'm Back!

Hi!  It's been awhile.  I started this blog at a really busy time and just haven't had a chance to update all zero of my followers about what’s been going on :)  Most of you reading this know that I just got married in June, but so many other exciting things happened before the big day...

My best friend, Caroline had a baby in February.  She is the most precious baby girl ever!

Introducing Arabella Caroline

There was lots of preparation leading up to Arabella's arrival.  Her mom and I both went into home decorating overdrive.  I wanted to finish my formal living/dining room in time to host a baby shower. I don't really have any before pictures but just imagine a long, empty room.  Below are some pics of the design process and the finished space.
Coming Together....
Austin hanging the panels I had made- loving every minute of it :)

So many gifts!

Those mini cupcakes on the left are from Gigi's Cupcakes in Norcross and they are to die for!!!

I stayed up late every night the week before the shower and literally finished decorating the morning of!  The shower was a great way to get Austin to do all of the things I'd been asking him to do for months.  He moaned and groaned lots during the process, but I think in the end he was pretty impressed with how everything came together.  I loved how the room turned out, but more importantly was so happy that Caroline's shower went so well!  Baby Arabella was showered with lots of love and cute gifts!
While working on this room, I was also helping Caroline with Arabella's nursery.  I plan for that to be my next blog post- Get excited... this nursery is the perfect balance between simply sweet and simply stylish!

I'm Not a Blogger.

I finally started a blog. Don't get too excited. My blogging skills are subpar at best.  However, Austin thinks I should share my decorating ideas and experiences.  I'll admit that I am excited to post pictures of spaces I've worked on or ideas that inspire me....I'm just not so sure about the writting part.  So please, enjoy the images I upload and overlook my poor written communication... I tend to ramble and assemble very long run-on sentences :)

Currently, I am in the middle of a few decorating projects...Most are for myself or friends.  Soon I plan on posting the work I've done at my friend Caroline's house, but until I get some better quality pics I'll just share these slices of bedroom heaven. I love how calm and inviting these rooms look. I've just started working on my own pitiful bedroom and hope that when I'm finished that I strike the perfect balance between bedrooms #1 and #4.
